Bluecrew Drug & Alcohol- Free Workplace Policy and Crew Consent for Testing

Alcohol and drug prohibitions, drug testing, medical marijuana use, and Bluecrew's policies for safe and healthy workplaces.

Updated over a week ago

As a Crew Member, you understand and agree to submit to a drug or alcohol test administered by a Bluecrew representative or authorized medical clinic, in accordance with this policy, by providing a sample of saliva or urine for analysis. By agreement to work with Bluecrew and our Clients, you understand that if you refuse to submit to a drug or alcohol test, or if you otherwise fail to cooperate, you will not be offered employment, or will be subject to termination.

Bluecrew explicitly prohibits the following: (a) Possession, use, solicitation for, or sale of illegal drugs, drug paraphernalia, and controlled substances on the assigned premises, while working, waiting or preparing for work, performing any job duties, on a meal/rest break, or cleaning up after work. (b) Drinking, possessing, selling or soliciting for alcoholic beverages at work venues. (c) Underage drinking, serving, or selling alcoholic beverages, or providing any drugs to minors is strictly prohibited.

These are the only exceptions: (i) Employees required to serve and sell alcoholic beverages on the job; (ii) Employees in job positions promoting a business, such as entertaining Clients, tastings or testing drink recipes. (iii) At Bluecrew or Client-sponsored events where alcoholic beverages are served (however, if drinking alcoholic beverages, one must act responsibly and not drive a vehicle under the influence).

Being impaired or being under the influence of drugs, alcohol or controlled substances (including painkillers, muscle relaxers or medical marijuana), while working are a serious performance and safety concern, and prohibited when performing safety-sensitive jobs.

Bluecrew specifically does not exempt medical or lawful recreational marijuana use from this policy. Thus, possession, use, solicitation for, or sale of cannabis in any form, by employees on workplace premises is strictly prohibited, with no exceptions.

Drug and alcohol testing may occur at the following times: (a) pre-employment, (b) pre-assignment in a different job position or specific Client; (c) reasonable cause or suspicion that employee is under the influence; (d) post-accident or after a workplace injury; or (e) on a random testing basis.

Bluecrew and its Clients will conduct drug screens and testing for the following prohibited substances: • alcohol  • cannabis (marijuana or THC)  • cocaine  • opiates (codeine, heroin and morphine)  • phencyclidine (PCP) • methamphetamines  • amphetamines  • barbiturates  • benzodiazepines  • other controlled substances specified by DOT and federal regulations.

All test results are kept as confidential as possible. All positive test results will be confirmed in a clinical lab by a medical review officer. A positive test result will result in disciplinary action or immediate termination of employment with Bluecrew and/or working with specific Clients. All testing will be paid by the employer.

A refusal to submit to a test or other behavior that hinders or tampers with results of a test will result in termination of employment or rescission of a job offer.

Crew members by accepting employment with Bluecrew, agree to follow all workplace policies, and/or to submit to a drug test when instructed. Further, Crew members voluntarily grant their full authorization and permission to Bluecrew and its Clients for testing under this policy by accepting that they will be submitted to testing. Crew members consent includes that they will hold harmless Bluecrew and its Clients, meaning that they will not sue or hold any of these parties responsible, for any alleged harm that may result from such testing, including loss of employment or any other adverse action.

BLUECREW AND ITS CLIENTS ARE COMMITTED TO PROVIDING A SAFE AND DRUG-FREE WORK ENVIRONMENT FOR OUR EMPLOYEES. IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT THE DRUG AND ALCOHOL TESTING OR THIS POLICY, PLEASE ASK YOUR LOCAL BLUECREW REPRESENTATIVE.
